The training was a full day of events including informational packets, group interactions, and guest speakers. Starting off the training day, we were filled with anxiousness and excitement for the day ahead. We were presented with so much information. We learned about the benefits of having an open adoption, some challenges we might face with adopting a child with a different ethnicity than ours, and we saw adoption from the perspective of the birth parent(s).
We also realized how much our relationship has grown since we started dating, and how we are truly there to support each other. We have also come to realize how much we have grown spiritually, and how we have healed from a lot of the pain, sorrow, anger, and frustration we have experienced from our losses and struggles with infertility.
The paperwork is overwhelming, but we are reminded every day of all of your love and support throughout this process.
