I apologize for taking so long to get another update out to you all. We have been having some technical difficulties with the website updating to new software and therefore it is in the process of being rebuilt.
We are still waiting for our background checks to come back. Why do these things take forever and a day?? It seems that each step of this process is hurry up and wait. I can almost bet that the California paperwork will take the longest to come back. In the meantime, I have reached out to see if we can get started on the home visit process. We are hoping to have the first visit completed in August. I am still not sure what to expect for this visit. However, I was told that they mainly want to see where the baby’s room will be and where they will be sleeping, as well as the condition of our home, and I believe there will be an interview in there too. I’m hoping that we can get some feedback from the social worker on items that they would suggest for babyproofing or things that might be a concern. My hopes are that we can then get started on these items right away and not feel like we are being rushed to get them completed.
